Our Constitution post 1st April 2025

Take a look at the clubs constitution documents:

Memorandum of Association

At the clubs Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on 1st April 2025 the following resolution was unanimously agreed: "To formally adopt the new constitution which makes the club a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) as well as maintaining its Limited by Guarantee status. Reason for the change; to allow the club to receive land and other gifts in a tax efficient manner by changing its status to that of a CASC."

The reason we wanted to become a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)  as well as remain limited by guarantee is shown below:

We were already "Limited by guarantee" to protect members from claims. By becoming a CASC allows the club to accept gifts such as land without the donor becoming liable for capitol gains and other potential tax liabilities. It will also gives the club the benefits other special tax concessions. We have chosen to become a club registered with HMRC as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) as the most appropriate structure for us as opposed to becoming a charity registered and regulated by the charity commission.
